Our taxation article shows the mechanics – this one shows pure numbers, at three typical annual budget levels. The formula is identical throughout: salary carries a ~69.92% total burden ratio, group insurance 33.04% on the payer side.
As salary (grossed up): HUF 169,925 total company cost. As insurance: HUF 133,040. Saving: HUF 36,885 per person per year. For a 25-person team that is over HUF 920,000 a year – for the same employee value.
As salary: HUF 509,775. As insurance: HUF 399,120. Saving: HUF 110,655 per person per year. For a 10-person leadership circle, HUF 1.1 million stays with the company annually – or funds a higher tier from the same budget.
As salary: HUF 849,625. As insurance: HUF 665,200. Saving: HUF 184,425 per person per year. Nearly HUF 185k per key person annually – making this retention tool cheaper than any cash equivalent of the same value.
In a typical employee tax situation without a personal income tax allowance, the same employee value as insurance is typically more than 20% cheaper for the company; for colleagues who receive a personal income tax allowance, the ratio is significantly less favourable and can even reverse – so it is worth running the numbers with your own payroll data. The budget levels are illustrative – not package prices: what contents a given budget buys is what the proposal shows (see the four tiers).
