Health ambassadors: multiplying impact through internal champions

The strongest sentence in benefits communication belongs neither to HR nor to us: „I got my MRI in two weeks – call them." An ambassador programme turns that sentence into a system – volunteer internal champions people can turn to.

Who makes a good ambassador?

What they do – and don’t

They do: answer first questions („who do I call?", „what is in the package?"), share their own story, flag systemic snags to HR. They do NOT: give health advice, administer others’ cases, or in any form ask about others’ health status – the boundary is the principle in the GDPR article: health data is private.

What does the ambassador get?

Preparation (a short session with the care coordinator), an extended cheat sheet, first notice of changes – and recognition: the role should appear in the annual review. Typically no money: paid advocacy would kill precisely the credibility.
