The screening programme draws the most positive feedback of any element – and does the most against sick days. But it does not run itself: people must actually go. Here is the organisational checklist.
Timing
- Autumn is the best season: after holidays, before year-end – September to November.
- Avoid closing periods and your company’s peak season.
- Give a 6-8 week window: a single „screening week" is too tight for shift workers and field staff.
Organisation
- Clarify with the care coordinator: what the protocol includes per tier, whether fasting is needed, how long it takes.
- Group slots: ask whether the coordinator can dedicate time blocks to your company.
- Working-time allowance: let screening happen during work hours – the loudest possible signal that the company means it.
Communication
- Opening message from a leader, not a newsletter: „I have already booked mine".
- Concrete instead of mystical: what happens at the screening, how long, what you learn.
- Reminders in weeks 3 and 6 – that is when sign-ups jump.
- Afterwards, share participation (no names!) – the basis of next year’s campaign.
What to watch
Results are strictly the colleague’s private matter – the company should never request or receive health data beyond participation statistics. More utilisation moves in our utilisation article; the data-protection frame in the GDPR article.
