Policy wording is not a novel – but with ten terms, any offer becomes readable. Here is the dictionary, with examples.
The time after inception during which certain services are not yet available. Often shorter or waived in group contracts – but typical for inpatient and surgical covers. Ask: on what, and how long.
What the insurance never covers (certain treatment types, competitive-sport injuries). A short exclusion list is a value in itself.
Your share of the cost. Rarer in health insurance than in motor, but reimbursement elements may carry it as a percentage: „80% reimbursement" means a 20% co-payment.
The cap on the insurer’s payment – per year or per service. A „dental budget" is typically an annual limit. Between two offers, the limit is often the real difference on the same service.
The two basic structures – covered in a dedicated article.
The service of having appointments booked for you. May include commitments: within how many days, in which specialties.
Where care is available: nationally, in-network, possibly abroad (assistance elements). Crucial with rural sites.
The exact contents of the annual screening per tier. Behind the phrase „executive check-up" live very different protocols – ask for an itemised list.
How monthly settlement works for joiners and leavers, and the band within which headcount movement does not change pricing. The key to smooth administration.
The renewal premium-increase mechanism. The real question is not whether it exists but what it is tied to and how transparent it is – at renewal we check this for you.
