Most employee questions cover the same dozen topics. This article is HR’s cheat sheet – and can be handed straight to colleagues.
About usage
- „Who do I call to see a doctor?" – The care coordinator’s dedicated number; they book and verify cover.
- „How fast do I get an appointment?" – Depends on the specialty, typically days; organisational commitments are fixed in the package.
- „Can I see my own doctor?" – If your package has reimbursement elements, yes, with subsequent refund; network elements use partner clinics.
- „Can I go during working hours?" – A company-policy matter; most workplaces allow screening in work time.
About cover
- „Can I use it with a pre-existing condition?" – For outpatient care usually yes; inpatient covers may carry waiting periods. Details in a dedicated article.
- „Is dental included?" – Tier-dependent, typically an annual-budget module – your one-page summary tells you.
- „What if something is not covered?" – The coordinator tells you in advance; then care is self-paid or routed differently.
- „Can my child/spouse join?" – With most insurers yes, typically at a discounted premium you pay: family article.
About the boundaries
- „What happens if I leave?" – Cover is tied to employment and typically ends on exit.
- „Does my boss see that I went to a doctor?" – No. Your health data stays with the insurer and providers; the company sees at most aggregate usage statistics. Details: GDPR article.
- „Do I call this in an emergency?" – No: in danger to life, call 112. The package is for plannable care.
- „Do I ever pay anything?" – In-network typically nothing; with reimbursement you front the cost and the insurer refunds.
