Health insurance in your job ads: how to phrase it so it works

In recruiting, the benefits list is no longer garnish: candidates read it through, and many filter on it. But the same health insurance can land empty or land strong – the difference is in the wording.

The weak and the strong version

Weak: „health insurance". One word in a list the candidate cannot interpret. Strong: „private healthcare package: specialists, labs, diagnostics – with the services included in the package, and fast appointments". That is an experience promise, but only as far as the actual cover goes – the ad should not promise more than the actual package delivers.

What to highlight

Where should it appear?

Not only at the bottom of the ad: give it its own block on the career page (1-2 sentences + icon), and say it aloud at the interview – let HR mention in one sentence what they last used themselves. Credibility beats any slogan.

What not to do

Do not promise more in the ad than the role’s tier contains – it surfaces in week one and destroys more than the ad gained. On tiers: the four tiers; the recruiting-retention picture: turnover article.
