Price is the first question, and most places answer it evasively. We will not give you a price list – that would be misleading – but we will show what drives the premium, what ranges to think in, and how to get the most out of a budget.
What drives the premium?
- Headcount: larger groups get better per-person rates; available from as few as 2 persons.
- Age profile: age-banded pricing is the basis for calculating the premium for the group as a whole – which is why birth years are needed (no names); the contract, however, does not contain an individualised, name-attributed premium – the favourable (specific-defined-benefit) taxation rests precisely on this condition.
- Tier: from the outpatient-focused base level through extended tiers to executive packages.
- Modules: dental, inpatient/surgical cover, MRI-CT, second medical opinion.
What ballpark are we talking about?
Entry-level packages start from a few thousand forints per person per month; extended tiers typically run one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half times that, with executive packages above. The total programme cost is typically a fraction of payroll – and since it is taxed at a 33.04% burden, the same employee value costs over 20% less than a pay rise. Exact figures only come from a tailored proposal: we select from nine insurers’ competing offers, and price differences for the same contents can be significant.
Planning a budget wisely
A well-designed programme is not one-size-fits-all: separate tiers for executives, middle management and staff put the budget where it is worth most. A common solution is for the company to fund the base tier for everyone, with upgrades or family members financed by the employee at discounted group rates.
