Basic or executive screening? What is in the protocols?

Screening is the most popular package element – but the word „screening programme" says nothing by itself. The protocol is the point: what is examined, at what depth, in how much time. The typical levels.

Basic screening (20-40 minutes)

Typical contents: blood count and basic lab panel (glucose, cholesterol, liver-kidney values), blood pressure, body composition, ECG, a general medical consult. This level answers „is there something to watch" – done annually it is already a serious early-warning system.

Extended screening (around half a day)

Builds on the basic: broader labs (thyroid, tumour markers where justified), abdominal ultrasound, eye and hearing tests, gynaecological/urological modules, stress ECG. The most common middle-management and executive choice – organ-specific questions get answers here.

Executive screening (half a day to a full day)

The full protocol: cardiac stress testing, wider imaging, dermatological mole screening, a series of specialist consults, closed by a written medical summary. The name can mislead – it is justified by age and risk profile, not job title (50+ article).

What to compare

For the organisational side – timing, campaign, participation – the screening checklist provides a ready plan.
